Kelly West
GEF Coordinator, UN Environment
Kelly spent the first decade of her career conducting research, trying to better understand the explosive evolution in Lake Tanganyika and the African Great Lakes in general. This inspired subsequent work in conservation and sustainable use of ecosystems in East Africa. During her career she has worked in the project management unit of a GEF project on Lake Tanganyika and subsequently developed and supervised GEF projects. She is currently the GEF Coordinator for UN Environment.
