The objective of this project is to reduce (and/or eliminate) the release of POPs, UPOPs and heavy metals (such as mercury and lead) and mitigate their adverse impacts on human health and the environment by making strategic interventions across the life cycle of electrical and electronic equipment and strengthening India’s capacity for the environmentally sound management of electrical and electronic wastes (e-waste) while at the same time increasing recovery of scarce and valuable metals through integrated approaches.
