The Climate Adaptation Workshop for Francophone Least Developed Countries (LDCs) took place April 24-27, 2023 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Dakar, Senegal. The event brought together francophone LDC operational focal points, national adaptation experts from the LDCs, civil society organizations engaged in adaptation, UN Framework Convention on Climate Change national focal points, GEF agencies, and the GEF Scientific Technical and Advisory Panel. The event was highly inclusive, promoting gender equality and the ‘whole of society’ approach central to the adaptation strategy. Representatives of other climate funds were invited to assist countries with synergistic and coordinated adaptation programming.
The workshop is based on the GEF’s ongoing implementation of its programming strategy on adaptation for the LDCF and SCCF for the 2022-2026 period.
