The Global Environment Facility welcomes the United Kingdom’s £330 million pledge to its ninth replenishment cycle (GEF-9), announced by the UK Government during UNGA 81 in New York. Donor countries have now pledged more than $4.3 billion for GEF-9, in a powerful demonstration of commitment to meeting international environmental goals through multilateral cooperation. A healthy planet makes lasting development possible. We are deeply grateful to the Government of the United Kingdom for its continued leadership, trust, and long-term partnership with the GEF as it supports countries’ efforts to tackle the root causes of environmental degradation.
